Summer is here, and as lash artists we need to refresh our lash game to ensure our clients’ extensions stay stunning despite the heat. Whether you’re battling humidity, sweat, or those powerful heat waves, we've got you covered. ☀️

Here are our top five tips to make this summer a breeze for you and your clients!

1. Balance that Humidity

Humidity can be a lash artist’s best friend or worst enemy, but with the right approach, you’ll have long lasting lashes... and clients.

• Keep an Eye on Humidity Levels 🧖🏼: Use a hygrometer to track the humidity in your studio. Aim for the sweet spot between 45% and 60%. 
• Adapt Your Adhesive: Switch to an adhesive that loves the humidity just as much as you do! All Snob Adhesives work at their top performance in this humidity range of 40-60%.
• Create a Cozy Environment: Invest in a dehumidifier or air conditioner to keep your workspace comfy for both you and your clients.
• Weather Watch 🌦 : Keep an eye out for weather changes in your surrounding area, if its quite warm or rainy your lashing environment is more likely to fluctuate too.

2. Proper Summer Care For Your Clients:

Educate your clients on how to keep their lashes looking fabulous all summer long.

• Heat and Steam Be Gone 🙅🏼‍♀️: Advise clients to be careful with activities like saunas and hot yoga that expose lashes to excessive heat. This may affect retention for your clients resulting in more fall out.
• Sun and Water Savvy 🌊 : Encourage the use of sunglasses to protect lashes from UV rays and remind clients to treat their lashes gently when swimming in saltwater or chlorine. UV rays can have some powerful effects on the lashes and may cause discoloration or even crisped lashes that potentially loose their beautiful curl. We don't want that! Encourage gentle rubbing of the eye area if they are cooling off in serene bodies of water. 
• Keep It Clean 🧼 : Recommend a gentle, oil-free cleanser to wash away sweat, sunscreen, and makeup residue, keeping lashes fresh and clean. If your clients do indulge in swimming in natural bodies of water, such as lakes or oceans.. it is VERY important that they immediately wash their lashes once they are out of the water. Microorganisms that live in the water have the potential to stick around and potentially cause irritation or even infections.
